What started as a concept to enhance the image of a state has turned out to be one of the most successful achievements in the golf industry.

In 1992 the first golf courses opened on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama. The vision of creating a golf trail came from Dr. David G. Bronner, the CEO of the Retirement Systems of Alabama. The golf course designs started with Robert Trent Jones after coming out of retirement and have continued with Roger Rulewich, Jones’ protégé. The original courses opened in 1992 and additional courses have been added over the years. In 2011, greens were replaced on several courses. Silver Lakes underwent a significant renovation after tornado damage in 2011.

$20 on 20

On the 20^th day of each month in 2012, enjoy a round of golf on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail for $20. Reservations can be made within seven days of the desired date and are available through the local RTJ sites. Golf carts are not included in the price and play is based upon availability. For $20, the hardest part may be deciding which location to challenge.

RTJ Trail Card/Loyalty Program

Golfers have been very loyal to the Trail, in fact naming it Alabama Tourism’s Attraction of the Year for 2010. To say thanks, the Trail is upgrading its traditional Trail Card by adding a loyalty program to it. After purchasing the Trail Card, golfers will enjoy their seventh round of golf for free. The Trail Card is available to Alabama residents or those living within 100 miles of the state line. Trail Cards are $35 until January 1 and $39.95 after that date. In addition to the seventh round free, the Trail Card offers discounts on golf, merchandise, range balls and golf instruction at the RTJ locations.

Trail Adds Platinum Memberships

Membership has its own privileges and our inaugural Platinum Members of Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail will have plenty.

They receive unlimited greens fees all year to nine of the RTJ sites and reduced greens fees at Ross Bridge and Lakewood Golf Club. They can enjoy unlimited range privileges at their home site plus their own private locker, guest privileges at the RTJ Trail Card rate, 15% off merchandise and clubhouse meals plus 10% off golf lessons. Platinum Memberships start at $1800, considerably lower than a country club membership, and members have unlimited access to RTJ’s world-class golf.  Payment options are available annually, quarterly and monthly. He uses an example of the word “beat” versus the word “obliterate”. Can you see how much more powerful the latter is?

When you use best of the relationship texts you’ll be focusing on memories… good memories. So you’ll be asking your ex to remember something positive and fun, and you’ll be directing that memory in their mind.

For example, “Remember that time we raced those Go Karts at the county track? You were so excited when you bumped my rear and made me spin out so you could pass me and beat me. Brat. It was a blast though and you looked good with your cute little racer’s helmet.”

Just remember to focus on fun, happy, and pleasurable experiences to direct your ex into thinking positive thoughts about you.

Making time to make love, and be intimate, bonds and creates unity. It can help alleviate jealousy, and build trust. You are sharing yourself in every way, and that is a beautiful thing.

It’s true. Women think they have us figured out. It’s soooo easy, apparently. They even think they can analyze a man’s personality based on the drink that he orders. Exhibit A: the slideshow that Julie Fishman of Glo put together of a few examples of drinks men order, with the analysis courtesy of Manhattan bartend Dara Mahler and bartendner/blogger/author Jordan Catapano.  Check out their analysis and see if they’ve got you pegged…or if the ladies need to head back to the field for some more “research”.

Jack and Coke – “A weeknight drink for men who wear suits.” A whiskey and soda guy often appears as if he could drink for eight hours straight—even while making business deals—without slurring a word. While he can be overly macho, we’d like to think that this guy isn’t into playing games.

Wine – A guy who asks to see the wine list usually has an interest in art, culture and travel. But if he orders the house varietal without thinking, he might need some more grooming.

Light Beer – Mahler believes that light beer drinkers are most often partiers after quantity not quality, though there’s also the occasional fitness fanatic who doesn’t want to ruin his six-pack. The quantity guy may seem affable and fun-loving, but his heavy drinking could be a sign of trouble, whereas a calorie counter may be judgmental and unable to let loose.

Craft Beer – Catapano finds that “a man who drinks craft beer appreciates the finer things in life.” This type typically isn’t looking for a quick buzz, but rather seems to enjoy savoring the moment. And we like to believe that a man who sips high-quality beer will value a high-quality woman, as well.

Gin & Tonic – These men are generally polite and reserved—until they perhaps enjoy a few too many cocktails and morph into their more rambunctious alter egos. “These are often the guys who get thrown out of the bar then appear a few weeks later as if nothing ever happened,” adds Mahler, citing her experience.

Scotch – Characteristically patient and wise with a strong work ethic, a man who drinks fine-aged scotch is “accomplished but rarely boasts,” says Catapano. This kind of man is often serious and contemplative, so chances are he’s looking for more than a casual fling.

Vodka & Redbull – Either right out of college or still holding on to those glory days, this guy is—more often than not—a “hard partier who doesn’t mind waking up without a clue as to what happened the night prior,” says Mahler.

Dirty Martini – A martini man “likely has money and wants you to recognize it,” says Mahler. If he knows exactly what he wants in a drink (Grey Goose, straight up, with two olives), then he probably also has specific criteria for a mate. He can be difficult to please, as he looks for faults in everything, says Mahler.

Tropical Cocktail – Pastel-colored drinks festooned with umbrellas may look feminine, but don’t be fooled—a man who drinks them can be both strong and quick-witted. Most often comfortable in his own skin, “he likes what he likes, and the viewpoints of others are irrelevant,” says Catapano.

Tom Collins – Since this drink requires fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors, this guy “understands that when you want something done right, you need to put some TLC into it,” says Catapano. We imagine that this man has a passion for details and would love planning fantastic date nights for the two of you.

White Russian – If he loves this hipster drink of the moment, then this guy probably regularly quotes The Big Lebowski. Likely a liberal into indie rock and anything retro, he may come off as trying too hard, but he is often well read and well spoken, ensuring conversations will never be dull.

“Whatever she’s having” – If a man doesn’t have a set drink and tends to just piggyback on your order, then he’s certainly easygoing, but he may also be complacent. A man who’s agreeable will probably treat you well, but his “whatever you want” routine could become frustrating over time.

So, should you upgrade to Firefox 8? Well many experts say that they really don’t see much in this newer version that warranted a completely new version number; but it does belong to Mozilla and of course, naming is not considered a democracy.

That being said there are some new features that may make it worth the upgrade and loss of some add-ons. For example, Twitter search has been added to the search bar making it easier to follow the tweets you are interested in. Another feature is that third party add-on installers are disabled by default; meaning you have the choice to either install the add-on or get rid of it.

Firefox 8 has added a new preference that gives you the option to load certain tabs on startup which improves performance when you launch the browser. Along those same lines this version has improved memory handling and performance while using video and audio elements. They have also included several new security and stability fixes that were needed.

Keep in mind that you can install Firefox 8, use it for a while and if you decide it is not right for you then you can always uninstall it and install an earlier version.

What would you do with nearly $9 million dollars? Oh sure, you can probably come up with a million different ways to spend it but when you actually have it in hand it is a whole different story.

The champion became interested in poker after watching High Stakes Poker on TV; he played a few hands with some friends and decided he needed more experience and knowledge. He immersed himself in the subject and started playing poker online resulting in over $700,000.00 in winnings; as well as titles in the Full Title Poker Sunday Mulligan and PokerStars tournaments.

However, none of this prepared him for live poker, and in his words, live poker seems pretty boring and you need lots of patience. His lack of experience resulted in only one win of his first fifteen events, placing 7^th in a No Limit Hold ‘em tournament. He decided to register for the WSOP Main Event, but lacking confidence, he signed up for day 1-A stating that he could at least get in there quickly and get out quickly if he was eliminated. Obviously that was not the case; however the competition was fierce and intense, so much so that Heinz’s mother actually left the theater during the final table because it was too stressful.
