Chris Paul and Dwight Howard to the Lakers!? If true this can create a rumble in the Western Conference and create an instant star studded team that rivals the Miami Heat with Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. For this trade to happen Andrew Byrum would be the center piece and most likely be traded to New Orleans. Also, look for Lamar “Kardashian” Odom and Ron Artest to be mixed up into the traded. Can the Lakers make it happen? It’s been rumored that this summer that Dwight Howard #1 choice was to come to L.A.

Ever wonder why people in the south are always armed? Well, this is why:

This 1,800 lb. wild boar was shot and killed in Potosi, Missouri, near the county airport on Hwy 8 east and near the community of Mineral Point. It’s actual name is a Piney Wood Rooter. There was a documentary on about a month ago about these pigs growing up rapidly in the US. They’re all over Georgia , Alabama , Arkansas , Missouri , Florida and other states.

Did you ever wonder what happens to those people that just leave home and disappear but their car is found out on a dirt road? Between bigfoot and these monsters, I think we know!

This one was killed by a Medical Radiology worker. What would you do if this beast was coming at you? Run for dear life? Climb a tree? Or simply get run over?

Christian Lopez may have received the respect of Derek Jeter and the Yankees organization, but apparently that comes with a price. A price charged by the Internal Revenue Service.

Lopez was sitting in the left field bleachers on Saturday at Yankee Stadium when he caught the home run that was Derek Jeter’s 3000th hit. After the game, Lopez gave the ball back to the Yankee shortstop without asking for anything in return. For his generosity, however, the Yankees furnished him with 4 front-row seats to the next day’s game, and then 4 Champion’s Club tickets for all Yankee home games for the rest of the year, including the post-season. Jeter also gave Lopez several signed bats, balls, and jerseys. The tickets alone are said to be valued anywhere between $45,000 and $74,000.

Now there’s talk about whether the IRS will treat this as gifts to Lopez, or as income. If it is treated as income, Lopez could owe Uncle Sam somewhere in the neighborhood of $14,000.  Even with the goods and the fame that the young man has gained recently, $14,000 is still an expensive day at the ballpark no matter how you cut it.

Lopez already has quite a bit of bills to pay as it is, as he said he still owes about $100,000 on student loans he accumulated from college.  Family and friends, including his father, could help him with the taxes should the IRS choose to bill him for the role he played in taking part in sports history. Another option could be to sell off some of the tickets, however there is currently no intention to return them to the Yankees. Rumors have already started flying that the Yankees organization or even Jeter himself may step in to help Lopez with his new found government burden.

Still, Lopez remains just as friendly as he was the day that fate brought Jeter’s 3000th into his hands.

“The IRS has a job to do, so I’m not going to hold it against them, but it would be cool if they helped me out a little on this” he said.

Gareth Thomas is a welsh professional rugby player that plays in Europe’s Super League. He’s 6’3 at 225 pounds. He’s been named to more national teams then any man in the history of the game. He’s broken his nose several times, both shoulders, lost teeth, and will drink and brawl with his friends. Oh yeah and he’s gay.

Here are some of his highlights:

When people think of gay males that’s certainly not the image that they have of them. The toughest, bravest thing that he did was not done on the field, but off it. He came out and when he finally did he felt an enormous weight lifted from him. Why have more people not done this? There has to be more athletes out there that wish to come out. Do other athletes feel that they need the level of respect among their peers and the sporting world in order to come out? How mature is society as a whole about being gay? Athletes are in locker rooms with other men, they hug each other and slap each others butts. Do athletes just not trust their teammates to be okay with it?

Gareth Thomas is certainly a step forward for gay men in sports, but another question they might be asking is what their fans or endorsements might think. Well, continue to play the game at a high level why should it bother them ? As you watch your favorite player dominate are you even thinking about his sexuality?

After winning the Stanley Cup you need to celebrate like a champion at some club or bar. Well, the Boston Bruins did that and fetched a bill that cost almost $157,000.00. When all was said and done they drank 67 Fiji Waters to sober up. Talk about partying it up!
